How do I create a poll?
Community Polls allows you to create polls from front-end only. For this you need to create a menu item for Community Polls home page first. Once you visit the Community Polls home page you can see the "Add New Poll" link through which you can add new poll.
Buttons and other UI elements are not working in Community Polls?
Make sure you installed CoreJoomla jQuery plugin (Available for free under CoreJoomla core plugin group) and enabled it. You can change the templates right from the plugin configuration.
I could not see the Add New Poll link on front-end Community Polls home page?
Make sure you have set up proper permissions in Community Polls configuration on back-end. You must select ALL user groups that you want to allow creating polls. See the sample screenshot below:
In the page above All users including guests have Poll creation permission (The first select box).
Please note that Joomla 1.6 version does not have the permission settings inside configuration. Rather it is moved to the standard Joomla ACL page which can be accessed through Options button on toolbar. The Options button is available in both the Control Panel and Configuration pages
You can select multiple user groups by press and hold CTRL button and select the groups using mouse left button.
I could not see the polls on front-end after creation?
Please check if you have enabled polls moderation. If that is the case, you must approve polls from backend Approval section.
I do not see edit option for polls?
Polls cannot be edited from front-end and the option is available only on back-end. Go to Polls section on backend and click on the poll to edit title, options or description. Please note that editing a poll after recieving some votes will produce undesired results. Always create new poll if you want different set of questions.
Can I remove Powered By/Credits link? How?
Absolutely yes. You are free to hide the link, just disable "Enable Credits" option under configuration. However we would appreciate if you could give us the credit for hundreds of hard work we spent on making quality extensions.
How can I change the template dynamically?
Community Polls takes theme input parameter which accepts template name (Available from v1.5.21 release). For example use below parameters in Community Polls URLs to switch between default and default2 templates respectively:
theme=default
theme=default2
Please note that you need not add the parameter for every URL. The Community Polls saves your preference once it found the parameter in any one of the URL and uses it for subsequent requests.
