Will do. But, I have just spent time on your http://www.boddunan.com site. Fantastic Maverick. You have a LOT of Polls that you have running already. Very cool.
For starters, it is partly thanks to Joomla... but being able to sort through Polls based on Categories, but then by the Author/Creator too, and then by All Polls from UserXVZ or Author Polls, and then... Featured Polls, Related Polls, Latest Polls, etc..... this behavior and navigation is really nice. Just having the ability to sort and navigate on this is most excellent.
I will PM a couple of additional things, but you really have a site with very good behaviors and navigation. Well done. This was not my original intent, but seeing the focus towards article ideas and submission, well, this is also right up something else I am assisting with in terms of museums. The more time I review, the more I like.
Again, am in Eval mode for the next few days, but Mav, your site and responsiveness has totally shot to the top. I need to go through these Evals, but hey... well done.
Sure. Please send me the PM.
Thanks a lot once again drh.. Infact Community Polls is emerged from my community website. I have searched at all available places for a component which satisfies my requirements but found none. So started this project.
And I am really in need of another good components for reviews, surveys and quiz etc. Please let me know if such components exists. (I know JReviews is there but is useless to me as there are hell lot of restrictions on code usage, site usage and so on which does not fit to my needs.) . If I do not find one, I may need to develop one, but have no time for that now :(
I suggest having a simple comment option like the PollXT component. The comment allows a voter to add comments along with his/her vote, or it can allow the voter to add another voting option. The comments can be displayed when the result is viewed.
The difference is that PollXT's free text can be used as (1) another voting option where the user specify the option that the originator did not include (see vote option C below), and (2) the free text is tied to the user's vote, such as in vote option A and B:
0 vote option A [ enter free text here ]
0 vote option B [ enter free text here ]
0 [ enter free text here for vote option C ]
The "tell us about it" option is used exactly the same way PollXT is using for its free text. Note the last option of "Other: tell us about it" on the Cnet screen that allows new voting option to be added.
Just an idea to improve and not meant to criticize...I think you have a great thing going here.
