Show Title

Category: Community Quiz 3 months ago

hi maverick

In the Quiz Configuration page I have set the Show Title option to Hide which hides the text as expected.

However, the title's wrapper and borderline etc. are still visible - is there a way theses can be hidden as well when in Hide mode?

It will disappear if the Show Intro option is set to Hide in the Quiz Configuration page. Ideally, I still wanted an intro page with the assessment guidelines and reference material etc.

Thanks Steve - Adelaide, South Australia (quiz code SDP30)

    Can you post a screenshot of the line that shows?

    hi maverick

    Attached is the screenshot showing the wrapper box and borderline I am referring to.

    In the Quiz Configuration section, when the Show Title option is set to Hide, then the title's text is hidden as expected, but not the wrapper and border etc.

    If the Show Intro option is also set to Hide, then the wrapper box borderline is hidden, but then the Introduction page at the beginning of the quiz is also not visible, which I still wanted (just the intro page) to provide the assessment guidelines and reference material etc.

    Thanks Steve, Adelaide, Australia

    The page will have no other elements except the password if you remove that block. I think we should add one more check to see if the description is empty and hide the block instead of just checking if intro enabled. try these changes.

    edit components/com_communityquiz/layouts/YOURLAYOUT/quiz/intro.php and find at line 36

    $params->get('show_intro', 1) ||

    change it to

    !empty(strip_tags($item->text)) ||

    Hi maverick

    Have changed line 36 as per above and as shown in attachements.

    With the change made there is no difference as the title's wrapper outline is still visible on the question page, see 2nd attachment.

    Also with the line 36 change, it would appear the Hide the Intro page is not active, as it still displays the empty box wrapper above the password

    Thanks Steve, Adelaide - Australia

    My Bad. Please change that code to

    ($params->get('show_intro', 1) && !empty(strip_tags($item->text))) ||

    Also, the following options should be disabled to hide all elements in that block, I guess you already did.

    - Show Title
    - Show Author
    - Show Category
    - Show Create Date
    - Show Hits
    - Social Sharing
    - Show Tags

    hi maverick and thanks for your time and support

    I have added the above code and checked that all the elements listed in your last post above are set to Hide with the results attached in two screenshots.

    From the Intro page screenshot that is how I want the page to look. (the test is from the editor section of the Quiz Content tab.

    In the Question page screenshot the wrapper's borderline still visible which is what I would like to hide/remove

    (just a side-note, the Intro page text still displays when the Show Intro is set to Hide??

    Show intro means the entire intro page will be shown/hidden.

    Can you send me your quiz url so that I will take a look at it? You can either use contact us form or pm to send details.
