    More Info: I am using Joomla 3.62, CJblog 2.0.0.b1, Easy Profile 2.1 with its Social Network plugin v.1.0.0. 1) When I login via Joomla login form, everything is ok. 2) When I login via Easy Profile Social Connet login, I get: 1146 Table 'U1813724.#__cjblog_points_rules' doesn't exist SQL=SELECT id, title, description, rule_name, app_name, points, published, auto_approve, access FROM #__cjblog_points_rules WHERE rule_name='com_users.login' 3) In Joomla back end / Components / CJBlog / Points Rules, I get: Error Table 'U1813724.#__cjblog_points_rules' doesn't exist SQL=SELECT a.id, a.title, a.description, a.app_name, a.rule_name, a.points, a.access, a.published,a.checked_out, a.checked_out_time, a.auto_approve, a.created_by, a.created, a.ordering,uc.name AS editor,ag.title AS access_level,ua.name AS author_name FROM #__cjblog_points_rules AS a LEFT JOIN #__users AS uc ON uc.id=a.checked_out LEFT JOIN #__viewlevels AS ag ON ag.id = a.access LEFT JOIN #__users AS ua ON ua.id = a.created_by WHERE (a.published = 0 OR a.published = 1) ORDER BY a.ordering asc LIMIT 20 Table 'U1813724.#__cjblog_points_rules' doesn't exist SQL=SELECT COUNT(*) FROM #__cjblog_points_rules AS a LEFT JOIN #__users AS uc ON uc.id=a.checked_out LEFT JOIN #__viewlevels AS ag ON ag.id = a.access LEFT JOIN #__users AS ua ON ua.id = a.created_by WHERE (a.published = 0 OR a.published = 1)

Is there an option or plugin that integrates CJblog with Easy Profile Social Network? I saw an old thread about Easy Profile Integration in CJblog forum?  Does that method still work?

  • Pinto Buck created new topic How to prevent 404 Error when CJblog user is not logged in.

    September 13 at 10:36 pm

I'm using Joomla 3.62 and CJblog v2.0.0.b1. On my Main Menu, I created a menu item "Create & manage your blog," which linked to CJblog "User Profile."  That worked fine, unless the user had not logged into Joomla. Then the menu item gave a 404 Error. So, I needed the menu item "Create & manage your blog" to redirect users that had not yet logged in so they would go to the Joomla login form.  I found the method here: https://docs.joomla.org/Auto_redirect_guests_to_login

Regarding JCE editor -- I uninstalled a conflicting extension called theWallFactory. Now, JCE editor is working fine.

    1. Thank you. 2. You are correct. I still need to configure points and badges. 3. JCE editor does not show in my CJBlog Create an Article. Also, when using JCE, some buttons show in Create and Article at the bottom of the page which link to modules and other things.  Please see attached image.  This is not a big issue for me, because TinyMCE works fine.  For info, I'm using Gantry 5 template framework and the Hassium template from jvgtheme.pl. Those items are not high priority issues for me.  They are would-be-nice items, and I posted them to provide info and feedback.  The highest priority item for me to use CJBlog on my production sites is the other thread How to hide categories from CJblog users. I must thank you, again, for being so responsive and helpful. I do believe that CJblog is a great extension that will become very popular.

Suggestions for CJBlog: 1) The "Account" title is confusing because normally "Account" just means things like password and profile.  The hidden subtitle is "My Stuff," which I suggest should be the main title which is visible because it really does contain "my stuff" like my articles, my favorites, etc.  With the "Account" title, people don't know the "my stuff" is there unless they click on "Account". 2) "My profile summary" seems to just display an article category listing, and does not appear to do anything with user profile. Perhaps, it should just be called "Profile" and link to the user's profile. Thank you for considering these suggestions.

    September 13 at 1:11 am

Info: CJblog did not create a CJblog Menu like other major extensions typically do when they are installed. It was not a problem for me, because I created a menu for CJblog.  Anyone can do that, but I thought I would let you know.

Using Joomla 3.62 and CJblog v2.0.0.b1. I would like to hide some article categories from CJblog users. For example I would like to hide Uncategorised and System Articles. I thought I found the control in the CJBlog Categories module (see attached image), but users could still access and blog to the all the categories through their dashboard.

I think I fixed it. This is what worked for me. I reset all permissions back to the original default permissions. Then, I went to Joomla back end / Global Configurations / CJblog / Permissions. In that Permissions, for Registered Users, I set Create to allowed, and set Edit Own to allowed. Now, logged in users could create a blog in CJblog. Doing it this way, I think the new permissions only apply to the CJblog component.

Hello Maverick.  Thank you for replying.  I understand that CJblog is a free extension, so I very much appreciate your help. The problem is with permissions as you suggested.  When I logged into the front end as super user, then everything worked. However for the registered and logged in user, the problems remained. In the back end, I went to Global Configurations / Articles and set "allowed" for registered users and above. Then, I went to Components / CJblog / Options / Articles and set "allowed" for registered users and above.  But, the problems remained.

Using Joomla 3.62 and CJblog 2.0.0.b1. From the front end, in CJblog dashboard click on Create a Article and nothing happens. It just shows the dashboard again. From the front end, click on CJblog Article Form, and a logged in user gets "403 You are not authorized to view this resouce."

  • Pinto Buck created new topic Must install CJLib before CJBlog in Joomla 3.6.

    September 9 at 11:12 pm

This is for info. I'm using Joomla 3.62.   I installed pkg_cjblog_v2.0.0.b1 first.  Then I installed pkg_cjlib_v2.4.8.  The packages installed, but when I tried to use the component or use the blog from the front end, all I got were Error 500 codes about files not found.  I check the mysql database, and the only cj table there was for cjlib and no tables for cjblog.  So, I reinstalled pkg_cjblog, and now everything seems to be working ok so far.
