OK, So just go there: http://demo.corejoomla.com/polls/poll-categories/85-miscellaneous/1154-poll-with-custom-stack-answer.html Enter a custom answer, without anything else. Press "Vote Now" button => "this field is required" message does appear, whereas it should not and custom answer recorded...isn't it? Thanks

My usecase is your second one: -> User can enter only custom answer and vote I still have the message "This field is required"... I guess in both cases, stack answer or not. Can you please provide me a test environment where it works as you describe? I cannot on my side, I am still in DEV env on my local PC... P.S.: In this usecase "-> User can enter custom answer and select existing answer", will the custom answer be considerred as "voted"?   Thank you

Hello Maverick, I installed the package you provided me as a fix. Unfortunately, it does not solve the issue. In a poll of checkbox type, I still need to select a choice whereas I just want to provide my own choice, which is not I guess the expected behaviour. Indeed it will imply the user to vote for a choice to be able to add its own one. On top, the added choice is not selected/voted.. Thus I am afraid you have to set this bug as NOT FIXED.Also, as suggestions, it will be nice to have: 1/ a dedicated button to add a custom answer (and not using the "vote" button) such as "Add my choice" for instance. 2/ for poll with settings "modify answers" (COM_COMMUNITYPOLLS_FIELD_MODIFY_ANSWERS_LABEL) enabled: 2-1/ change the message COM_COMMUNITYPOLLS_MESSAGE_ALREADY_VOTED="You have already voted on this poll." to something like COM_COMMUNITYPOLLS_MESSAGE_ALREADY_VOTED_MODIFY="You have already voted on this poll, but you can modify your vote." 2-2/ display/select the already voted choice(s) of the current user as a reminder for him/her. Thank you for your feedback on each point...

Hello Maverick, Hope you're doing well... Where do we stand with this issue? Unfortunately, It is still there on my side, even after having removed the both pieces of code yo mentionned: The issue is caused by below code in media/com_communitypolls/js/cj.polls.min.js. I will be removing this in next version. As version, I have: 4.4.4 for CommunityPolls and CjLib Version 2.4.6.. Thank you for your feedback.

Good news, you have found the issue. Both pieces of code have to be removed or changed? Do I wait for next version or could you give me correction before? Thank you

Hi Maverick, I am afraid we have difficulties to understand ourselves.... I understood the difference between "Custom Answer = enable" and "Custom answer = stack answer". The point is that in both cases, I am not able to use either one or the other. HOW TO USE the custom answer? I remind you that i created polls on your demo site (to ensure, issue with custom fileds was not related to my site) where I am not able to use custom answer, again either stack answer mode or not... Thus how to enter own answer in a poll. Again when enterring answer in custom filed and clicking on "vote" I have an error message "filed required".... Than you for your complete answer...

Hello Maverick, Sorry, but it not clear to me. My need: allow users to enter their own answer/choice in a poll. How to? Please describe step by step how to do this. If too long, limit to "custom answer = stack answer" behaviour and ignore "custom answer = enable" one. Thank you for your support

Hello Maverick, If i understood right...I select an existing answer, then I enter a new one in text box, then i click on vote. Am i right? In such a case I have the message: " Please select either existing option or enter your own, however not both." with this poll : http://demo.corejoomla.com/polls/poll-categories/84-funny-polls/1124-poll-with-custom-stack-answer.html

Hello, I would like to test polls where "custom answer" is enabled or "stack answer". On my website, with such settings, when enterring a new answer in the dedicated field with placeholder text "Others, please enter here:, I have the error message "this field is required" when clicking on vote button. Thus I created a poll on your demo site: http://demo.corejoomla.com/polls/poll-categories/84-funny-polls/1124-poll-with-custom-stack-answer.html To check if the issue is related to my environment, but I have the same issue on your demo site. Could you please explain how end users can enter its own answer in a poll that allow this? In both cases "enable" and "stack answer". Thank you.

Hi Maverick, Thank you for your suggestion, but my UI shall be very user friendly, thus I guess creating the poll while editing/creating is easier than creating the poll, then inserting it into an article. But your proposal is valid if I do not reach to code my need. Again, please let me know where is called this code "administrator/components/com_communitypolls/views/poll/tmpl/modal.php" ? It looks to be what I need as it has buttons apply/save/cancel. This code seems to edit poll in a modal... Thank you.

OK, and how do we reach it? How do we activate this modal dialog within our Joomla site? Through the admin interface? Thank you

Hi Maverick, thanks for your concern.. I need to provide users with a button that is adding a poll to the artile they are currently creating. Do you copy me? Thus, I guess, opening the edit poll view in a modal window looks user friendly...while creating your article, you can click on a button that allow you to add a poll to this article... Could you tell me more about editor plugin? Are you talking about plugin that enables usage of shortcode "contentpoll"? Also, please let me know how to access the modal view I was refering to earlier. Thank you

Hello, I need to add a button in edit article view, in order to allow user ta add a poll into an article while he/she is creating an article. I try to do so by using a modal window, which will embed the view components/com_communitypolls/views/form/tmpl/edit.php Currently I copied the file edit.php to edit-in-modal.php and I try to play with this.. I discover there is modal view: administrator/components/com_communitypolls/views/poll/tmpl/modal.php What is this view aimed at? From where can we access it (from admin panels?)? Can I use it as an example for my need? Thank you for your reply.
